Lynn County IVSS Coverage
The current county service is Texas IVSS-Counties. It covers participating county custody and court events. The Lynn County Sheriff’s official page directs custody inquiries to VINELink, and county minutes document a SAVINS agreement tied to the statewide vendor change. Those local sources support Lynn participation, though live portal behavior should be confirmed when a search or registration fails.
IVSS-Counties is not the same as the TDCJ prison and parole IVSS. A person held only at Lynn County Jail belongs in the county portal. After transfer into a TDCJ unit, state-prison and parole notifications belong in TDCJ IVSS. A transfer alert connects the two systems; it does not mean community release.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator is separate, and neither Texas IVSS portal covers all federal custody. A no-result in the county portal cannot rule out TDCJ, another county, BOP, USMS, or ICE custody.

Search Lynn County IVSS Records
The county portal accepts several identifiers. A full first and last name can work. For a partial search, the interface suggests at least the first three letters of each. It also accepts a DOC ID, SID, Jail ID, or permanent booking number. Search narrowly enough to avoid a false match, then compare all identifiers shown.
- Open IVSS-Counties and select the county search.
- Enter the full name or supported identification number. Use the suggested partial-name format only when spelling is uncertain.
- Complete CAPTCHA and review the returned matches.
- Open the likely record and compare name, identifying details, agency, and custody location.
- If no record appears, call the Lynn County Sheriff at 806-561-4505 and ask whether the person was released or transferred.
The portal is focused on current custody or supervision. It warns that someone no longer in custody may not appear and that the portal is not an official record. A missing result has several possible causes: release, transfer, delay, nonparticipation, or an identifier mismatch. Lynn County Release Alert Fields
An IVSS event is useful because it captures what a participating agency transmitted at a point in time. It is still a notification, not the complete jail-release file. The release reason, court authority, physical destination, and receiving agency may require a separate sheriff or clerk request.

A “released” alert does not by itself distinguish bond, time served, dismissal, transfer, or another agency’s hold. Preserve the alert time. Then ask LCSO for the actual release or transfer disposition and ask the correct Lynn or charging-county clerk for the order that authorized the change.
Register Lynn County Release Notifications
Notification works best when registration occurs before the expected custody change. From a matching person, choose the notification option. The live interface may permit notification with or without an account. An account can help manage more than one registration, but a temporary account-creation problem was visible on the research date.
- Select Lynn County and the correct person.

IVSS-Counties support is available at 866-268-8959 around the clock. Contact support when the match is correct but notification cannot be registered. If the person has moved into TDCJ, begin a separate state IVSS registration rather than waiting for county events.
Lynn County VINE Transition
Texas replaced the old county VINE service with IVSS-Counties on September 1, 2025. The Texas Attorney General notification page says existing registrations migrated and users did not need to register again, though portal users were prompted to update passwords. Phone, text, and email notices continued through the new provider.
Lynn County presents an especially useful example of that transition. The sheriff page still uses the familiar VINELink label, while commissioners’ minutes recorded an existing SAVINS agreement and approved a new agreement connected to the vendor move. The older label is therefore a route to the modern statewide county service, not a reason to follow obsolete instructions.

Lynn County Alerts Outlast Search
IVSS-Counties can stop displaying someone who is no longer in custody while keeping the notification registration active in case that person returns. This makes the service valuable for future status changes. It also makes the public search unsuitable as a permanent archive of Lynn County releases.
A saved release notice is better timing evidence than later search-page absence. Even so, it only proves the reporting agency transmitted a status. Pair it with the sheriff’s record showing date, time, disposition, release authority, and destination. When a court order controlled the event, obtain that order too.
If the person later returns to custody, the retained registration may produce another notice. Do not treat the new event as a correction to the old one without comparing booking numbers and dates. Each custody episode needs its own record.
Registration is prospective by design. It helps monitor the next reported change, but it does not reconstruct every old booking or release. For a past Lynn County event, use the name, date of birth, booking range, arresting agency, and charging county in a focused records request. Ask for releasable portions when some details are withheld.
Confirm Lynn County Release Status
Call the Lynn County Sheriff at 806-561-4505 for a county-jail event. Give the full name, date of birth, booking date or number if known, arresting agency, and charging county. Ask whether the event was community release, movement to another county, delivery to TDCJ, or another agency transfer. Then request the releasable disposition in writing under the Texas Public Information Act.
For a TDCJ event, the current offender search works only while the person is incarcerated. TDCJ IVSS supplies notifications, while a release certificate or written historical response supplies stronger proof. For a federal or immigration event, use the owning federal system. One portal never covers the whole path.
- Save the notification with its timestamp.
- Record which agency transmitted it.
- Match the person with more than a name.
- Request the release reason and destination.
- Compare the sheriff event with the court order.
Conflicting records should be sent back to the originating offices. Compare identifiers, event dates, and the precise custody boundary each record describes. A release from Lynn County charges may still lead to custody elsewhere.
